The couple had booked a multi-leg, 20-day sailing from Civitavecchia, Italy, to Hamburg, Germany.
The cruise began May 4, and Seabourn ordered the couple to disembark in Lisbon eight days later when the 84-year-old wife said she wasn’t feeling well and wouldn’t attend the drill at the start of the second leg of the trip.
She had participated in a drill when the ship left Rome, but Seabourn’s policy requires all passengers to attend, regardless of where they boarded a ship.
