"It has been a privilege to serve as Royal's SVP marketing for the past three-plus years and contribute to the brand's tremendous success. I am fortunate to have worked with an incredibly talented marketing team and am particularly proud of the work we have done on Royal's new global brand campaign," O'Rourke said in an email to Travel Weekly.

She said that she's been "so caught up in flying and sailing around the world, that I seem to have lost that all-important balance in my life."

Her entrepreneurial spirit, she said, "is waking up again, and it will feel good to have the time and opportunity to think about something new."

Before joining Royal, O'Rourke was senior vice president of marketing and communications at Wyndham Worldwide. She previously served as senior vice president of marketing for the Travel Industry Association of America, where she created SeeAmerica, the international umbrella marketing program for the U.S. travel industry.
